Abstract

This study is multi-dimensional in approach, conducted to examine the voting behavior of the
people in NA-34 Lower Dir for the general election held on May 11, 2013. For this purpose,
opinions were sought from different segments of the electorates based on their diverse
background, such as age, gender, education, profession, income and family type. The study
revolves around an analysis of the society, cultural, psychological, political, economic and
religious factors shaping the voting tendency of the people in the target population. Voting
behavior of the people living in the constituency with particular reference to their
participation in the general election held in 2013 was examined in the light of their social,
religious, political and family background.
